Qualifications of Sheri Chapel include a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law, a Bachelor’s Degree from Tarleton State University, member of The Texas A & M University System, and a graduate of the Texas Police Academy located in Kilgore, Texas. Sheri Chapel is also a graduate of the Probation and Parole Academy located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. In addition, she also has numerous certificates in the Law Enforcement field, to include NIK Polytesting System of Narcotics Identification Competency Level Course, Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, Basic Peace Officer Certificate, Highway Interdiction Seminar, Operator’s Certificate Doppler Radar Operation, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Practitioner, Firearm Training in both handguns and shotguns, and certificate of completion from the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. She has been employed as a Police Officer, Sheriff’s Deputy, and Probation Officer. While employed as a Probation Officer, she was in charge of the work release program, allowing inmates that were incarcerated to go to work while serving their sentence in jail. She also was in charge of the parole program, whereby she would investigate whether the inmate would be eligible for parole and whether parole should be recommended. She worked very closely with the courts in her capacity as Probation Officer. She also participated in a statewide Homeland Security Defense Exercise to test the readiness of Law Enforcement and Emergency Personnel in a crisis. In addition she has completed training in Highway Interdiction from the United States Department of Justice. Her current employment includes teaching Criminal Justice courses at Keystone College since 2004 as well as the Director and instructor of the Criminal Justice Program at Ridley-Lowell Business and Technical Institute since 2009.
